Whether you are a one man band or part of a business with up to 50 employees, if it's your responsibility to choose a mobile solution for your company there are a number of things to consider above and beyond choosing a suitable handset.
  1. What sort of voice tariff do you need? Tariffs fall in to the following camps:
    • A flat-rate tariff with no inclusive minutes, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
    • Individual-minute bundles of varying sizes for each member of your team
    • A sharer tariff where the minutes are allocated to users on a first-come, first served basis
  2. What's the monthly line rental charge and are there any calls included in teh price?
  3. How much do calls cost with the different tariffs?

    This breaks down as:
    • Calls to UK fixed lines
    • Calls to UK mobiles on the same network
    • Calls to other UK mobile networks
    • International calls, or calls made while out side the UK - some operators offer international call discount for a set fee every month
  4. Does the tariff reward you with discounted calls to people in your business on the same tariff - sometimes called 'company caller discount' ?
  5. Data bundles. If you are a heavy internet or email user, does the tariff have an allocation of data built into the deal, or do you have to add this on as a separate bundle?
